My next step in this commissioned painting was to fill in the flower-petal designs I had drawn in each circle. I first mixed some shades of raspberry and light pink, using them to fill in the flower shapes on the red, dark red, and plum circles.
Then I used platinum, unbleached titanium, and lime green to fill in the rest of the flower shapes. All of this took several painting sessions with a small brush since the canvas is so large.
Next I mixed a light blue and a light pink, and painted small star-like shapes inbetween the circles, placing them randomly around the canvas, with more blue toward the outer edges, more pink and light pink in the center section.
The painting is now pretty wild and close to being finished.
