Why do people stare?
There are a variety of reasons people stare at someone or something.
A stare can be harmless or done with cruel intent, depending on the attitude or motives of the individual.
One’s gaze can be done out of observation or contemplation.
Some people stare abstractly, some people stare because they are attracted to someone, some people stare because they have vision problems, and some people use a stare as an intimidating gesture toward someone.
There is another type of stare that is automatic in nature. An inborn tendency, a supernatural propensity.
There was a period within my life when I was heavily enveloped by that “stare”.
It was not an uncomfortable or annoying impulse on my part. The instinct felt and came as natural as the rest of my extraordinary characteristics.
I did not even know that it was a gift at that time. I thought it was part of my being alert and observant- those senses that had constantly served as a warning, guide, and source of protection. Which they did and were, though, there was more behind it.
“Keep doing it”, a woman I was having weekly bible study with encouraged. “It can save your life”, she had added.
The woman was correct.
Along with the gift of discernment (insight) came a vigilant radar that would inspire my head to turn around when someone was behind me who I needed to be aware or cautious of, and that would motion and focus my attention on someone or something to preternaturally receive information about.
It was awesome. Yet nothing to take lightly, or for granted.
I learned so much at an early age, about the world, myself, spiritual elements, others, and life itself.
Those of us who have particular spiritual/supernatural/extraordinary ability have them in many ways suitable and compatible to our distinction for which God created unto us accordingly.
