Texas shooting leaves more than 20 people dead.
According to NBC News, a single shooter walked into the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs around 11:30 a.m. and opened fire.
Among the dead is the 14-year-old daughter of the church’s pastor, Frank Pomeroy, according to his wife, Sherri Pomeroy, the girl’s mother. The couple were traveling out of state when the shooting occurred.
The shooter was killed after a brief chase north into neighboring Guadalupe County, according to Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Robert Murphy. It is unclear if the shooter was killed by police or took his own life, Murphy said. The FBI has responded to the scene of the shooting.
