There are a TON of tadpoles in my rain barrel.
The barrel has a screen in the lid, so I am not sure how the frog got in there to lay eggs. But there are loads of them in the barrel, and it has never been so clean. They’re doing brilliant work of eating all the algae off the sides of the barrel (you can see them in there, stuck like lampreys to the side, vacuuming up the all-you-can-eat slime buffet).
I’ll post more photos as they mature. I wonder if I can safely transplant a few into my other, slightly more gross rain barrel?
