MONICA is coming to UK & Irish Cinemas 15th December

Following celebrating the film’s world premiere at the 79th Venice International Film Festival, the film recieved critial acclaim for both its performances and subject matter. With IndieWire praising that it “raises the bar for trans stories onscreen” and The Daily Beast hailing MONICA as “the most important film you can see this year“.
The film boasts and incredble cast starring Trace Lysette (Hustlers, Transparent), Oscar nominee Patricia Clarkson (The Station Agent, Pieces of April, Sharp Objects), Emily Browning (American Gods, The Affair, Golden Exits), Joshua Close (Killers of the flower moon, Fargo) and Oscar nominee Adriana Barraza (Penny Dreadful: City of Angels, Babel, Amores Perros).
MONICA is an intimate portrait of a woman who returns home after a long absence to confront the wounds of her past. Reconnecting with her mother and the rest of her family for the first time since leaving as a teenager, Monica embarks on a path of healing and acceptance.
The film delves into Monica’s internal world and state of mind, her pain and fears, her needs and desires, to explore the universal themes of abandonment and forgiveness.
