Monday Musings #1 Beauty Dislikes

By Aworldfullofprettiness

I've been wanting to do more personal life posts for a while now. Posts that reflect my thoughts and opinions on certain life issues. I've got a whole load of ideas up my sleeve so I'm eager to get this going.
Today's post is about aspects of my beauty routine that I find annoying or tedious, or simply fail to do!
❤ Panda eyes. I haven't always had panda eyes when wearing make up so I'm trying to figure out where it went wrong. This causes me many cringe-worthy moments on a daily basis. A lot of my friends and boyfriend all fail to tell me when my eye make up is half down my face. Some days are worse than others and I still to this day don't know what causes it but it leaves me checking in my compact mirror every hour,  looking like some vain woman.
❤ Chipped nail polish. I think this looks so unsightly and it always happens at the most inappropriate times (like right at the start of your day out). I've been known to carry polish in my handbag for touch ups.
❤ Roots. I hate it when my roots come through. It automatically makes me feel less glamorous (not that I'm claiming to look glamorous in the first place!). I just feel untidy and not my best. Luckily I have some fantastic coloured dry shampoo which masks my roots and prolongs me dying my hair (which is a chore in itself).
❤ Plucking eyebrows. I never forget the first time my cousin tried to pluck my eyebrows when I was about 17. I think she pulled about 4 hairs out at once. I remember this light-headed feeling wash over me, I genuinely thought I was gonna pass out. Never again. Luckily I've been told I have naturally shaped eyebrows that don't really need plucking. The bit in the middle I either shave or use hair removal cream. Me and tweezers aren't friends (or maybe I'm just a wimp).
❤ Shaving legs. How tiresome is this job? If I can get away with it,  I bloody well will. I really have to be in the mood to shave, which I can assure you,  is not very often!
❤ Blemishes. These knock my confidence big time. I don't like to see them on other people so naturally assume they don't like to see them on me. My skin has its good and bad days. Sometimes I feel like I have teenage skin, other times its so flawless I want the world to see. Knowing my luck, it's usually the flawless days when I have no plans and end up stuck indoors for the 4 walls to admire my skin instead.
❤ Shiny faces. Meh. I use blotting paper, powder, make up setting spray...eeeverything. Again, some days are better than others but give over please, im nearly 30, not 13.
❤ Liquid liner. If you paid me I wouldn't be able to get this right. I've tried on and off for years. Admired photos of girls that have it on, thinking how much definition it gives to the eyes and how desperately I want to create that luck. I've watched dummies guides on how to apply the damn thing, but it just aint happening.
❤ Brittle flaky nails. Do one.
❤ How bloody expensive it is to invest in just the essentials to keep us looking half decent. I struggle to find a pack of (decent) face wipes now for under £3.50...and thats just the start of the bloody daily routine!
Can I be a boy?
Ok.. just for one day.
