The background

It’s happened to most people. The classic example is when the first Lord of the Rings film came out, and thousands of hapless consumers were conned into buying a 1970s cartoon version of the film, which was helpfully wrapped in plastic and had no illustrations on the cover. But there is a still more pernicious thing that cash-hungry studios do – the”mockbuster”. Scoped Out presents to you cool website Slightlywarped‘s list of the films that you accidentally pick up in the video shop, only to find you’ve been conned into buying Snakes on a Train. Or The Da Vinci Treasure. There’s also a good list on Listal, where you’ll find such gems as The Pirates of Treasure Island.
