Outside of Apple and Wear OS makers like Fossil, Mobvoi has been one of the few bright spots in the wearable space in recent years. If you're not familiar with the company, they consistently make affordable smartwatches like the TicWatch Pro, S2, and E2, all of which have compelling features. The latest version, the TicWatch GTX, may be the most accessible yet.

For this price, the TicWatch GTX has a lot to offer. It has a 1.28 inch display with a resolution of 240 x 240. The metal housing is IP68 certified and waterproof, making it suitable for tracking swimming exercises. Connectivity is limited to Bluetooth 5.0, but the watch monitors your activity levels throughout the day and has 14 built-in activity modes that you can use to keep track of your running, cycling and yoga workouts. It can also do sleep tracking and control music playback from your phone.

The battery life of the 200 mAh cell is about seven days with normal use. However, if you use the included power saving mode, you can get an additional three days. It takes approximately two hours to fully charge the battery.
You can also use the TicWatch GTX without a smartphone. However, when you pair the wearable with your phone, you can, for example, download additional watch faces to the device. You can also view the statistics that are shown on your phone's display. Remember, it doesn't come with Wear OS. Therefore, unfortunately, you cannot download apps from the Play Store.
