Verdict on Moana 2
Recap
The movie follows Moana as she searches for more civilization on other islands. However, her journey reunites her with Maui and the two must figure out how to defeat a ruthless God who has cursed the oceans.
Best Parts
The animation is beautiful and brings this colourful world to life. We get great comedy and a few catchy songs. This also dives more into the idea of Gods not always being good and controlling the people. We also get a few new characters on the journey who bring much-needed comedy to the serious side of the journey.
Worst Parts
When it comes to a Disney movie, it always feels like you need a good villain. This felt devoid of a villain, only a presence that never felt like a threat. It didn’t create any motivation it was just a God who didn’t like humans, leaving the story feeling empty at times.
Final Thoughts –Moana 2 is an enjoyable sequel but lacks any depth.
