Miss A Independent Showcase
I caught K-Pop girl group Miss A some time back when they were in Singapore. They were one of the first K-pop groups which caught my attention, so I was looking forward to seeing them in person. This was the first time I went to such a fan meeting, so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. And felt terribly overaged.
First time checking out a new performing venue The Star Vista
Consisting of members (from left) Min, Fei, Jia & Suzy, Miss A debuted onto the K-pop scene in 2010 with a string of popular releases such as “Bad Girl Good Girl” and “Breathe”. Fei and Jia are from China while Min and Suzy are Koreans. Hence the group name Miss A (for Asia).
Vivacious girls Suzy and Jia. They are only 18 and 24 respectively – I feel so old!

Suzy is so cheeky!

Audience Interaction – I see a very happy fan
This male fan can really dance! Even the girls were visibly impressed.

Jia (extreme right) had a surprise birthday celebration
Happy birthday Jia!

The girls gave a solo performance as well. Suzy showed off her dance moves.
While Jia sang Justin Bieber’s ‘As Long As You Love Me’
Min smothered gold dust all over and did a lock dance. I wondered how long she took to shower and get the gold dust off later.
Fei sang Taylor Swift’s ‘Trouble’. And now I know why I should invest in a good fan.
Goodbye Baby

It was nice seeing the girls ‘live’ but I felt it was a tad too short. Granted it was a fan meeting and not a concert, I thought the staging was a bit sparse and could be better. The girls’ liveliness and professionalism came through despite the simple set-up, and I enjoyed watching them. And I think I will stick to watching full concerts.
