Plot: Patricia “Trish” Weir is committed to putting her kidnapper and rapist Ernesto Miranda in prison, while her life is destroyed by the legal system.

Story: Miranda’s Victim starts when timid young woman Trish Weir (Breslin) gets sexually assaulted on her way home from work. Her mother Zeola (Enos) doesn’t want to believe the story, while her sister Ann (VanCamp). It is at a time when the victims struggled to get their stories heard. Detective Cooley (Murciano) leads the investigation and unlike most cases, he gets a big break.
The case gets taken to court and the lawyers on either side debate what happened. Lawrence Turoff (Wilson) looks to prove what happened, while Alvin Moore (Garcia) tries to defend the suspect. However, the case takes a turn and the rights of the suspect get put into the spotlight.
Verdict on Miranda’s Victim
Miranda’s Victim is a drama following the aftermath of a rape and how the evidence is discovered. It shows the nightmares the victim struggles through, while the law side of things want to make it a massive story.
This movie is difficult to handle as it shows the awful case where a victim isn’t believed. While lawyers seem more interested in making a name for themselves. It is amazing to see how one of the biggest changes in American law comes from a case which involves a guilty suspect, rather than a wrongfully accused one. This shows the horrendous mindset loved ones had about the incidents and the mentality of it being the victims fault. It ends up becoming a movie you want to shake your head at more than most court-based dramas.
