Hospital officials say a 14-year-old
Minnesota boy is in critical condition after he was accidentally shot in
the neck by his father.
The
Aitkin County sheriff's office says Dawson Vanportfliet, of Aitkin, was
flown to Hennepin County Medical Center after the accident Sunday
night. It says his father, 37-year-old Dennis Vanportfliet, was cleaning
a pistol when it fired, hitting the boy.
HCMC spokeswoman Christine Hill says Dawson remains in critical condition Wednesday.
