The Ministry of Health has reported to the Prime Minister and the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control on several aspects related to the prevention of epidemics and control measures.

Notably, the Ministry of Health proposed that people suffering from the coronavirus or exposed to someone infected by the coronavirus can work during self-isolation periods.

As per the Ministry of Health, those with symptoms of Covid-19 who are self-isolated can take part in work provided they follow the guidelines for the healthcare sector.

Furthermore, people exposed to those with infection and who are not fully vaccinated may take part in face-to-face or online methods following medical professional guidelines.

The ministry also sought permission to stop announcements of daily SARS-CoV-2 infection cases since this is just one of eight indicators to measure the epidemic’s severity but doesn’t reflect the progression causing the epidemic.

The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor demanded that the Ministry of Health promptly determine the status of those affected by Covid-19 to stop the need to go to responsible agencies numerous times to receive the confirmation of recovery.

In the last few days, The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has received numerous complaints from employees, union members, and the trade union level regarding the fact that workers have been forced to travel multiple times to obtain the certificates of recovery and certificates of leave to be able to claim social insurance.

If they discover that they are suffering from Covid-19 following self-testing, the person must visit the health facility where they reside and submit for a medical certificate proving that they have contracted the virus during their work absence; however, medical personnel at numerous stations are overwhelmed that they have forgotten to test that they are required to travel innumerable times, which has led to unsafety in the prevention and control of epidemics.
