Ok, it's been a minimalist week for me so I made a couple of minimalist drawings this morning. That means I made very few marks and left a lot of white space--called negative space in art speak.
My art is usually the opposite of minimalism--canvases filled from top to bottom and corner to corner with color, shapes and lines.
I always admire artists who can make a few simple brushstrokes on canvas or ink marks on paper, and voila--they've made a statement. It's not as easy as it looks, folks! But it does take confidence.
I am not bragging about these, just showing them to you. They were made with permanent black inks using a calligraphy pen and a fine point pen.
