Minecraft World Save Location – Windows, Mac & Linux – Find the Saves folder using this guide, edit import, export…your save files and save games

Minecraft World Save Location – Windows

Finding all your saves is super simple, you just have to follow this path on your computer

Windows Save Location: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\saves

Requirement: at least x1 Save, so launch the game and save

Steps to find a folder by following a path:

  1. First Press Windows + R
  2. Then Copy > %APPDATA%\.minecraft
  3. and Paste it in the run window
  4. Finally Press OK

Hidden Folders

In case you have hidden folders, this is how they are shown:

  1. Start Button > Control Panel
  2. Folder Options
  3. View tab (under Hidden files and folders)
  4. Select Show hidden files and folders.

Mac Save Location: ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft

Requirement: at least x1 Save, so launch the game and save

Steps to find a folder by following a path:

  1. Open the finder window
  2. Press Command + Shift + G
  3. Then Copy > ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft
  4. Paste it in the text field
  5. Press OK

Hidden Folders

In case you have hidden folders, this is how they are shown:

To un-hide all of the hidden files in the Finder, simply copy and paste the following code into the terminal and hit enter:

defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE

Minecraft World Save Location – Recover a deleted Minecraft World

Find all your saves here (Save Files & Save Game – Saves Folder):

  1. First, open the saves folder (check the previous guides to find it)  by following the steps that we have explained above in this article.
  2. There, you will find the folders of the worlds that you have created in Minecraft.
  3. Now, right-click on the folder with the name of the world that you want to recover.
  4. Select Properties.
  5. Click on the Previous versions tab.
  6. It should display all the previous versions of Minecraft World. Select the world from the list and click Restore.
