Miley Cyrus is about to make her entry in the world of Web3

Patent attorney Mike Kondoudis said in a series of tweets that both Miley Cyrus and Men’s Wearhouse have applied for Web3 trademarks to protect their copyright in the metaverse.

Miley Cyrus has applied to trademark her name, Miley, and the name of her band, Miley Cyrus, in order to:

A program that can be downloaded and used to manage digital assets, virtual goods, and virtual money.

Online, non-downloadable virtual items include virtual art pictures, clothes, jewelry, headgear, eyeglasses, shoes, bags, sports equipment, weapons, toys, video game equipment, characters, badges, stickers, tokens, emojis, and accessories that can be used in online games and virtual worlds.

If Miley Cyrus’s plans to sell and offer services in the virtual world come true, it will be her first independent venture into the metaverse. The pop diva has already made an appearance in the metaverse as an avatar in Gucci Town on Roblox. She is the face of Gucci Beauty’s new Flora Gorgeous Jasmine campaign.

Men’s Wearhouse has also filed four trademark applications for the brand name, its subbrand Jos A. Bank, and the Men’s Wearhouse emblem and logo.

The menswear store plans to sell digital wearables like sweaters, suits, pants, sportswear, woven shirts, knit shirts, knit sweaters, casual pants, cotton slacks, sport jackets, shirts, shorts, vests, cummerbunds, suspenders, shoes, socks, raincoats and topcoats, rainwear, jackets, ties, belts, T-shirts, bags, headwear, and accessories that can be used in online virtual worlds.

The trademark application says that these digital wearables will be verified with tokens that can’t be used more than once (NFTs). Men’s Wearhouse also plans to open an online store that will sell the digital wearables mentioned above as well as formal dress and tuxedo rentals that can be used in online virtual worlds.

Miley Cyrus sent her trademark applications to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) on August 16, while Men’s Wearhouse did the same on August 17.
