A privately owned MiG-21 races to get airborne for a flight demonstration at the 2010 Oshkosh AirVenture airshow. Some 50 countries over four continents have flown the MiG-21, considered the most-produced supersonic jet aircraft in aviation history. First flown in 1955, the MiG-21 was the first Soviet plane to reach Mach 2 and was in production from 1959 to 1985. This MiG-21MF is a modernized export version of the MiG-21SM and still wears its original Czechoslovak Air Force colors after moving to the U.S. in 1998. This aircraft was significantly damaged during a 2012 landing incident. Nikon D70s w/18-200mm.
