Microsoft Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL Devices Released with Windows 10 and Continuum

Microsoft has released the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL phones that come with high end specifications. The new Lumia smartphones are the first devices developed entirely by Microsoft after the company purchased the Nokia's handset business back in April 2014 for 7.2 billion dollars. Satya Nadella, CEO at Microsoft, has firstly showed the Lumia 950 XL in India during the company's Future Unleashed event that was held in Mumbai, on November 5-6, 2015.

The Lumia 950 XL comes with a 5.7-inch screen and features a Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor that's backed by 3GB of RAM. The device has 32GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 200GB using a microSD card. When it comes to cameras, the Lumia 950 XL features a 20MP primary shooter on the rear side and on its front side is placed a 5MP secondary camera. To make things even better, the device supports wireless charging.

The Lumia 950 XL supports dual SIM cards and 4G LTE, both features being very important on the Indian market.

On the other hand, the Lumia 950 device comes with a 5.2-inch display, a Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor and it is backed by 3GB of RAM. Likewise the Lumia 950 XL, the Lumia 950 has an internal storage of 32GB which supports expansion up to 200GB using a microSD card, the primary camera has a resolution of 20MP and the other one, which is placed on the front side, supports 5MP.

Microsoft Lumia 950 features a battery of 3000 mAh, while the Lumia 950 XL features a larger battery of 3340 mAh.

Both devices run on Windows 10 OS and come with Continuum, a feature which allows you to connect the devices to a monitor using an optional display dock to convert it to a regular desktop computer. Keep in mind that you will have some limitations, as you will be able to run ONLY applications available in the Windows Store. At the same time, you will be able to open an application on your monitor at one time.

Both the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL support Windows Hello, which will allow the phone's camera to read user gestures to unlock the devices. The cameras are also able to read users' irises to unlock the devices.

You can already pre-order the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL from Amazon.in, but you can also pre-order them from a retail store such as Reliance Digital Store or Crome. These two devices will hit the stores in India on December 11, 2015.
