Michelle Williams Sings Star Spangled Banner At Rams VS. Colts Game [VIDEO]

Michelle Williams, who has been in Houston helping with the Hurricane Harvey relief efforts, was in L.A. on Sunday to sing the Star Spangled Banner to kick off the Rams vs. Colts football game.

Michelle Williams reflected on how the country has shown so much unity and love after the events of Hurricane Harvey, sharing that  she prays we all start moving in a spirit rooted in love.

Yesterday I sang the Star Spangled Banner at the home opener for the LA @rams. Before I sang, there was a moment of silence for those affected by #HurricaneHarvey. I had flown in from Houston to LA which made the experience more beautiful. I also began to think of the love and unity this country has been displaying recently, but at the same time wondering why it seems we only show love during tragedy. Or maybe the love shown at other times doesn’t get the publicity that it should. I think about how far we’ve come and how far we have to go. I sang for those who are still seeking justice! Today I think and pray for the families of the lives lost on September 11, 2001. I pray that we start moving in a spirit rooted in love!!!

The ‘I Say Yes’ singer continued,

I Corinthians 13:4-7 says “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” I read this scripture and replace the word “love” or “it” with my actual name to make sure that I’m moving in love too!
