Michelle Williams is being honored for her work around mental health during Silence the Shame inaugural "A Brilliant Mind Gala."
Michelle who has been open about her mental health struggles is using her story to help others.
The singer is releasing her memoir on May 25th titled "Checking In." In it she shares her story on how getting real about depression saved her life. You can also check her on on her new podcast "Checking in with Michelle Williams."
The gala which is being held virtually on May 5th, will also honor Charlamagne tha God, DJ D-Nice, and psychologist Dr. Spirit.
The event also features special appearances by Atlanta's Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, Georgia Senator Rev. Raphael G. Warnock, Common, Lecrae, Keri Hilson, Ronnie DeVoe, and clothing designer Kenneth Cole. There will also be a special performance from Anthony Hamilton, and a special 15-minute Club Quarantine set by DJ D-Nice.
