Steve NewlinIf magic really existed, and a Harry Potter-like character joined the CIA what would happen? True Blood actor and comic book author Michael McMillian who plays Steve Newlin on the HBO series came up with the concept when he penned his comic book Lucid.

Now that the Harry Potter franchise has come to a close, Warner Bros is seeking other projects to fill the void according to a report from Variety. The four book series illustrated by Anna Wieszczyk seems to fit the bill! The series is described as:

”….A parallel universe where magic is real and world leaders have secret agents working to fight off supernatural threats. Main character is a young agent, recently appointed “Protector of the Realm,” who must use his skills as a covert spy and combat mage to stop an occult technology dealer.”

It will be developed and produced by Akiva Goldsman as a possible new franchaise for Warner Bros.

Lucid was first introduced at San Diego Comic Con 2009.

Congratulations Michael!
