Verdict: Brilliant
Story: Tracks starts as we meet Robyn (Wasikowska) a young woman who has become bored with life who comes up with an idea of traveling from Alice Springs through the desert to the Indian Ocean. First she must earn herself enough money to buy enough supplies and earn herself camels to take on the journey with just her and her dog Diggity.
Robyn must secure a sponsorship which means having to meet up with Rick (Driver) each month so he can record her adventure for the magazine but otherwise Robyn in alone on her journey. Robyn’s journey is filled with ups and downs but becomes the adventure of a life time for her, but can she make it to the end of her adventure is the only question left.
Tracks gives us the amazing story of one lady Robyn Davidson who wanted to escape the world for a while and travel across the outback. The story shows how if you want something you can work for it and that however hard you want to achieve it alone you are allowed to ask for help when needed. We get to see how Robyn respected the elder ways on her journey which others might have skipped over. The only down side to this film is certain moments can come off feeling slightly long at times.
Actor Review
Mia Wasikowska: Robyn is the young woman bored of everyday life who wants to create her own adventure by traveling from Alice Springs to the Indian Ocean with just her dog and camels. We get to see just how independent Robyn is by her work ethic as she wants to make this dream a reality. Mia could well have given a performance people will look back through her career and say is one of her best.
Adam Driver: Rick is a photographer that has been assigned to follow Robyn’s journey meeting up with her along the way. The two do strike up a relationship and we see his socially awkward side come through each meeting. Adam is good in this supporting role showing us how an outsider might see what is going on.
Support Cast: Tracks has a small supporting cast which only appear within the moments of Robyn’s adventure be it the first to give her a job or the ones that give her advice along the way.
Director Review: John Curran – John gives us a visually stunning look at this adventure that did show a courage unlike anything the world had seen before.
Adventure: Tracks puts us on this adventure many people would have questioned, many people would have quit on and many people would have never returned from.
Biographical: Tracks shows the incredible story that Robyn goes on from her own point of views.
Settings: Tracks uses the outback for the settings making us feel like we are on the journey with Robyn.
Suggestion: Tracks is one I would suggest for people to be trying because the story is incredible. (Try It)
Best Part: Visually great.
