The Education Minister of Maharashtra, Uday Samant, announced today that the MHT CET 2020 would be held in October 2020. He added that students should expect the exams to be conducted between 1 October 2020 and 15 October 2020. The state education minister on Twitter announced the tentative dates regarding the exam. MHT CET is an entrance exam conducted by the Government of Maharashtra, annually. It is generally conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education.

Decision After Meeting the Governor of Maharashtra
The decision regarding the dates of the MHT CET 2020 exam was taken by the state government. This was decided after conducting a high-level meeting between Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari and Education Minister Uday Samant. In the meeting, he also informed the governor about the state government’s plan to hold the final year exams for college and university students. The final year exam is still pending in the state due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Supreme Court has rejected the state government’s plea to request relief from UGC Guidelines, which mandates the holding of final year exams in 2020. Instead, the top court also asked the state government to approach UGC to seek an extension in the deadline for conducting the exams.
