Having yourself safe and healthy in the midst of the pandemic is paramount and your screen time would have a much greater effect on your mental health.

Why You Need to Take This Seriously

Given what’s going on all over the planet that there’s a lethal epidemic that stops us from hanging out with our friends and family, the next best thing is online socializing with them and that’s already a given. But have you ever thought abo how much screen time you use every day and how it affects your health that you want to take care of granted the coronavirus is not a joke, and any weakness is inviting disaster?

With that said, in our current condition, which we all believe is one, here are some ways to keep your mental health in check and yet maintain your fitness and balanced lifestyle. Before we start, a fast warning will not all work immediately but continue to practice them until you learn to adapt and you can feel the difference in a fairly short amount of time.

Dr. Chetna Kang is a consulting psychiatrist at the Nightingale Hospital Mental Health Unit who specializes in technology addiction. She has a lot on her mind, and all these are prescribed treatment that is prescribed by the good doctor that anyone can do.

Do Physical Activities That Don’t Require Screen Time

Doing physical exercises speaks volumes about your health and if done properly, will go a long way and be added to your everyday routine. Working without looking at your screen for instructions from running, jogging, doing yoga, or pilates will not only let your eyes take a break from all the low radiation you may be exposed to but will also keep your body fit and mentally resting.

Dr. Kang says, “It’s mainly because of posture. The way people use it in bed or sitting on a chair,” she goes on to say that it’s impossible to think about a life without screens nowadays. “They ‘re everywhere and we need them. They ‘re helping our lives. Instead of imagining life with no computer at all, we steal back and try to maintain control.”

Find Other Means to Connect

We stated at the beginning of the article that the reason for more screen time now is to let us see our friends and family but Dr. Kang says it doesn’t always have to be the case. “People don’t automatically feel more linked on a computer.” Just a simple phone call is going to do that for them, and it will be simpler. “We ‘re looking through a mirror, so there’s a time lag occasionally so we have to be more attentive to listening.”

Plan Your Daily Use In Front of The Screen

Dr. Kang has instructed you to schedule your time during the day when you need or need not be in front of the laptop. “Give yourself a moment in the morning when you’re not even going to touch a computer before, it’s another way to spend more time in the morning.”

So instead of using your phone as an alarm clock, because the mobile screen is going to be the first thing you see at the beginning of your day, maybe try going the old-fashioned route and just buy a regular alarm clock that you need to smash to stop ringing. If you don’t know the old school is still around.
