As much as I love a few great sponsored posts, I also love sharing what's been going on BTS of the blog with you all. This weekend as I stated Thursday was much needed quality time with the family. Zach and I have been so busy usually on the weekends either traveling to visit family or friends that it was just nice to be near home.
Speaking of home, ours is slowly slowly slowly getting there. As a few of you may know, we're in the very beginning stages of building our home in the Chicago area and it's so exciting to visit every week to see the progress being made. I used to hate going to Home Depot or Lowes to find various items we needed ( you can find me in AtHome or HomeGood any day of the week ha ) but now I think I'm more invested in everything because we have so many options to pick from with our home.
Saturday we were able to enjoy a relaxing morning and then head to a new donut shop many friends had suggested. My Sister's Lil Donut Shop was everything we expected and more! The kids picked out 6 different donuts to try ( we couldn't decide on which one so we opted for a few ha ) and devoured them! And true to it's name, it was a pretty tiny little shop! I had to try and grab this picture before all the donuts were gone!
We ventured out to a friend's home later that day for a BBQ. My kids couldn't sit still! They loved interacting with the other kids and we loved catching up with old friends for a few hours! Plus, anytime there's a great BBQ involved, you know I'm 99% there for the food. After a while the kids seemed to be getting sleepy so we drove home, put them to bed and Zach and I caught up on a few of our favorite shows. ( I'm almost finished withFriday Night Lights! What do I watch next?! )
Sunday morning came quickly and because it was already 80 out by 9am, we put the pool out for the kids to enjoy! You guys, I've never had to deal with such crazy tired children but I'm not one to complain that they went down pretty early and without a fuss later that night. I guess a lot of sunshine and fresh air really can do wonders when you need it too!
Today I coxed Zach to watch our rascals for a few hours so I can get some work done and a little bit of retail therapy in. I realized we're leaving for our trip to Positano in about a month and a half and I need to get a few things before we go!
