Meizu Pro 7 Set To Launch On 26th July

After a series of leaks and rumors, Meizu has finally confirmed the official launch date of Meizu Pro 7. The new flagship phone that features a secondary display on the back will be launched on 26th July.

The invitation itself confirms the secondary display which was leaked in renders some a little while back. While the device in the leaks looked very much like the Meizu Pro 6, however, it had a 2″ secondary display on the rear side.

The renders/leaks also show that the Meizu Pro 7 will feature a dual camera setup on the back.  Sources claim that Meizu is going to launch 2 variants of the phone, Pro 7 and a higher variant Meizu Pro 7 plus.

The Pro 7 may sport a 5.2″ FullHD Super AMOLED panel, a MediaTek X30 SoC, up to 8GB of RAM, 64/128GB of storage, and USB-C. While the Meizu Pro 7 Plus is expected to house a 5.7-inches 4K display, 4/6/8GB of RAM, 64/128GB. It was initially rumored that the Meizu Pro 7 Plus may feature a Samsung Exynos 8895 processor that powers the Galaxy S8, however, its being said that the Meizu Pro 7 Plus will feature Huawei’s Kirin 960 SoC.

Both the variants will feature a USB-type C port for connectivity and Sony’s IMX386 and IMX286 sensors at the back along with a 16MP front facing snapper.

The highlight of Meizu Pro 7 is its secondary display on the back, which was initially though to be a e-ink display, however, it looks like a full color screen. The display will be helpful in reading notifications, taking selfies and playing games too. In terms of pricing the Pro 7 will be priced starting CNY 3,299 $486 and will go all the way upto CNY 3,799 or $559 for the top end variant.
