Mega Bog aka multi-instrumentalist Erin Birgy has shared the David Lynch- and Ingmar Bergman-inspired video (directed by Laura Conway) for new single ‘For the Old World’ ahead of the release of her fifth album ‘Dolphine’ on 28 June on Paradise of Bachelors.
Taking influences from traditional Eastern music, there’s a relaxing charm as ‘For the Old World’ opens with gently swaying guitar before then taking an avant-garde turn into something more jazz infused. As the brass takes control, the intimacy makes way for something more consuming, cinematic and abstract while Erin offers confessional lyrics and repeats ‘You belong here’ in a way similar to Big Thief or Bat for Lashes.
