The background
The Olympic Games are over and, for Londoners, it’s back to the daily grind. The daily dose of inspirational sporting achievement by Team GB members like Mo Farah and Jessica Ennis and others is already being desperately missed by fans of the Olympics.
But all is not lost. Excitement is building for the London 2012 Paralympic Games, which run from 29 August to 9 September and will be shown on Channel 4. “Welcome to a world with no barriers, a world where possibilities are endless and potential is limitless,” promises Channel 4.

Meet the Superhumans
To tub-thump for their 150 hours of Paralympics coverage, Channel 4 is running a trailer which has gone viral on the internet. Set to Harder Than You Think by hip hop legends Public Enemy, the film showcases the abilities of some of the leading UK Paralympians, represents some of the unique stories behind the elite athletes, and shows the herculean efforts that have gone into their preparation for the Games. It’s pretty stirring stuff.
