Meet the Newest Addition to The Murray Family, The Starbucks Verismo 585

By Momfashionlifestyle @Fashnlifestyle

*Update-I have returned the Verismo after two months. The machine stopped performing to the same standard as when I wrote this review. The crema and thin layer of “foam” started to have large bubbles in it, I contacted Wiliiams Sonoma and Starbucks, and while both provided excellent customer service neither could fix the problem, as the store model had the same issues. It was a sad day :(

A few days ago I went into Williams Sonoma to check out their new Fall products. When I walked in it just so happened to be the first day the Starbucks Versimo 585 had been released. I am a coffee snob, more specifically, a Starbucks snob. I love Starbucks. You can say I’m addicted, but ever since I worked there in college and I saw how much thought and care was put into each and every drink, as far as the timing of the espresso shots… {how long the coffee was good for, quality, etc.}, I was hooked.

So when I saw that Starbucks made a machine that self cleans, with no steaming wand that wasn’t 2 grand, I had to know more. {This particular model is only available at Williams Sonoma at $399.}

I immediately began drilling the poor sales associate at the front of the store. SInce it was the first day she didn’t know all of the answers to my questions, she did however gladly find the answers for me. The associate offered to show me how the machine worked, asked me how I wanted my drink, and then continued to brew a shot.

As soon as I saw the beautiful way the machine poured the shot, I knew I was in love before I even tasted it. The crema was perfect. She put in a milk pod, and it aerated the milk perfectly for a latte. I added a little bit of foam to my espresso and had my first taste. It was amazing.

I bought the machine and the pods on the spot. I have used it this past week and I am love.  It is super fast and easy to use, only takes about ten seconds to warm up. It not only makes espresso but coffee as well. And the machine is smart enough to know to brew the coffee with a drip method and the espresso with high pressurized steam. Take it from me, YOU not only want this machine, you NEED THIS MACHINE. {The only downside is it only takes pods… and currently 2% Milk is the only milk pod} which I was told was supposed to change soon.
