Last week I had the pleasure of meeting one of my new very favorite jewelry designers. We had so much fun planning our Celebritized in Chicago x SBG designs trunk show, and I loved getting to know her, as well as her jewelry line. Sara Goldfine, of SBG designs, creates unique, vibrant and creative pieces. Make sure to stay tuned for more collaborations between Sara and myself. When did your interest in jewelry begin?When I was a little girl I used to play dress up for hours at a time. I would carefully go through all my mom's and older sister's jewelry in order to create the perfect look. I would secretly take apart my mom's jewelry to study the mechanism of design. I was mesmerized by the fact that raw material could turn into wearable art.
What did you do to pursue your dream? I went on to the University of Kansas to study both textile and jewelry design. After college I moved to Miami and got my feet wet in visual merchandise. In 2005, I move to LA, where SBG designs was essentially born.
I have to ask...who are some celebs that have been caught rocking SBG designs?All of them can be found {here}. Some fan favorites include: Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton, Brooke Shields, Giuliana Rancic, Hayden Panettiere, and Amanda Seyfried.
What is your 5 year plan? I would like to continue developing SBG designs, with the hopes of making the label a jewelry staple to women's wardrobes worldwide.
