…Meet In The Middle

One of the great things about baseball is how it brings people together.

Yes, a lot of that “togetherness” involves a friendly spirited debate over whose team is better.  However, at the end of the day we are all fans of the game, comradery, athleticism and good clean competition.

Unless the Yankees or Red Sox aren’t in the World Series, and then apparently everyone loses interest.  Or at least that’s what a lot of the writing surrounding this years world series would have your believe.

Search “World Series” in your search engine of choice, and you’ll find a lot of bitter articles claiming that this year’s series has no driving plot, is dull, and apparently not worth tuning in for.

Of course, if they don’t care then why are they spending time writing about it?

Plus, coming back from being 10.5 games out of the wild card on August 25th, kind of an interesting story…but I digress.

What I really want to know is why can’t we be friends?

Can’t we just come together as people who have something in common, a love of baseball.

I’m not asking you to turn your back on your home team, but I’m sure they won’t mind if you just watch the games (and admit to it).

And let’s  face it, they’re probably watching the World Series too.
