Designer Rebecca Minkoff will make an appearance at Neiman Marcus Willow Bend on Thursday, April 11 (6-8 pm) to mix and mingle with the style-makers of Dallas and chat about one of my favorite topics - HANDBAGS!Minkoff's Spring/Summer 2013 handbag collection offers classic satchels, duffle bags, shoulder bags and box clutches. Her timeless handbag styles are offered in neutral colors as well as cobalt blue and a blue-toned emerald green.
The envelope clutch has been a huge handbag trend over the past year and while Minkoff shows her own version of the envelope silhouette for Spring 2013; it is not in a clutch. Her envelope style handbag is a classic shoulder bag shown in an off-white color with exotic skinned texture.

I had the opportunity today to chat (via email) with Minkoff about her upcoming appearance:
MINKOFF: Me too! I’m loving my Coco clutch and Owen clutch. Both have tons of room to hold all my things! I don’t travel light usually.
OSC: What was your inspiration for the Spring/Summer Collection?
MINKOFF: The Spring 2013 collection is a nod to iconic 60s and 70s American photographer Slim Aarons, known for glamorously capturing socialites, jet-setters and celebrities while they lounged poolside. I imagined: the Slim Aarons subject of the 60s and 70s in today’s world, frolicking about at modern day haunts like Rose Bar and Surf Lodge. It is in these settings that the feminine-meets-tomboy muse that usually inspires me came alive, she’s the girl who allows her innate style to shine against the decadence of her surroundings.
OSC: What is your favorite thing to do when you're in Dallas? Do you have a restaurant you love or a particular shop you always visit when you're here?
MINKOFF: Yes, I love Boulevardier. It’s the cutest French bistro with really yummy food!
OSC: Talk to me about your partnership with Neiman Marcus and what their support of your line means to you.
MINKOFF: Neiman Marcus is a luxury designer store and knowing they support me and my brand means the absolute world to me and gives me such confidence as a designer. The day Neiman’s picked up my line was a good day for me.
