Spring King members Peter Darlington and James Green’s new project Meadow Meadow have shared ‘Fireworks’ ahead of the release of their eponymous debut EP on 19 August (pre-order the limited edition cassette here).
Recorded remotely between Manchester and London, the song finds both members of Meadow Meadow singing lead vocals (James: ‘It can be nice to write a set of lyrics and hear the other person singing them. It can offer insight and add a new dynamic to the intended message’) as the music swirls around in a hybrid of percussion, Super Furry Animals-style psychedlia and abstract Baths-esque melodies. The band sing about being on the wrong side and gliding into the ‘limitless sky’ before declaring things to be beautiful.
