October 2019

Taken during the annual San Francisco Fleet Week airshow practice, the two Blue Angle solos pilots perform the Opposing Knife-Edge Pass during their performance over the Bay.  First formed in 1946, the Blue Angels have been using the F/A-18 Hornet since 1986.  These are the oldest jets in the fleet that have been taken out of frontline combat strike units as more of the new Super Hornets are delivered.  In fact, the last active duty U.S. Navy F/A-18C Hornet was retired on Oct 2, 2019.  Nikon D500 w/Tamron 150-400mm.
