A new phenomenon that McDonald encountered lately, the big supporter of cryptocurrency Dogecoin, Tesla, and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, announced to his 71 million Twitter followers that he might “eat a happy meal on tv if @McDonalds accepts Dogecoin.”
Well, there are many ways to interpret this joke. I saw the reply from McDonald’s as an innocent one, just like kids_like jokes
But what comes after is interesting and also weird. Let’s sum up after these things to seek what we can learn through all of these !
Cryptocurrency and Happy Meals
Right then McDonald’s post gained many retweets, likes, and comments.
But it also invited some highlighted ones from the crypto community, such as comments from software engineer and Dogecoin co-creator Billy Markus.
In real speech @McDonalds, this space has a big problem with crap tokens and shills and bots and bad eggs, so I’m sure the joke had amusing intent but it finishes being super cringe within the crypto sphere,” Markus said on Twitter.
And in “other real speech,” Markus predicted, the story would next get share by the media, concentrating on the new existence of grimacecoin and its increase in value, which he said despite the goodwill of the doge community it may hurt and may cause people to lose money.
Dogecoin itself begins as a joke, meant to parody the success of cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin. Markus says he made the original Dogecoin in about a couple of hours, and publicly said that he left the project back in 2015, because “the community started to strongly switch from one that I was comfortable with.”
As a result
Grimacecoin made a joke, in response to Dogecoin.
Dogecoin made a joke, in response to Bitcoin.
And also Bitcoin made it that’s a little more confusing.
