May Book Club Votes!

By Cait @caitscozycorner
Oh Hey Tuesday! You're back and I can't believe we're already through the end of April! Where on earth does the time go? Maybe it's because Zach and I had something planned every single weekend this last month with his parents coming the first weekend, my Dad visiting the next, a huge wedding in Florida after that and then a bit of downtime that clearly was needed in our 2nd to last weekend. Phew!
In honor of May approaching quickly I wanted to give everyone the chance to vote on our May novel! As always, I appreciate your suggestions and opinions on novels each month and these 3 came weighing in pretty heavy. I can't wait to see which one you want to vote on but first, let's share a bit abut each book..
May Book Club Votes!1. Girl Code by Cara Alwill Leybay. GIRL CODE is a roadmap for female entrepreneurs, professional women, "side hustlers" (those with a day job who are building a business on the side), and anyone in between who wants to become a better woman. This book will not teach you how to build a multimillion dollar business. It won't teach you about systems or operational processes. But it will teach you how to build confidence in yourself, reconnect with your "why," eradicate jealousy, and ultimately learn the power of connection. Because at the end of the day, that's what life and business is all about.
May Book Club Votes!2. Longevity by Cameron Diaz. The Longevity Book explores what history, biology, neuroscience, and the women’s health movement can teach us about maintaining optimal health as we transition from our thirties to midlife. From understanding how growing older impacts various bodily systems to the biological differences in the way aging effects men and women; the latest science on telomeres and slowing the rate of cognitive decline to how meditation heals us and why love, friendship, and laughter matter for health, The Longevity Book offers an all-encompassing, holistic look at how the female body ages—and what we can all do to age better.
May Book Club Votes!3. Sweetbitter by Stephanie Danler. Stephanie Danler intimately defines the crucial transition from girl to woman, from living in a place that feels like nowhere to living in a place that feels like the center of the universe. She deftly conjures the nonstop and purely adrenalized world of the restaurant—conversations interrupted, phrases overheard, relationships only partially revealed. And she evokes the infinite possibilities, the unbearable beauty, the fragility and brutality of being young in New York with heart-stopping accuracy. A lush novel of the senses—of taste and hunger, seeing and understanding, love and desire—Sweetbitter is ultimately about the power of what remains after disillusionment, and the transformation and wisdom that come from our experiences, sweet and bitter.
