May 21st Doomsday is nearly upon us and the world is waiting anxiously to see if it will end. the fact that it’s coming a week before the UEFA Champions league final between Manchester United and Barcelona FC is just not cricket!

There’s been a few funny stories from around the world and one that caught my eye was the man from New York who has spent his life savings ahead of the great date! Robert Fitzpatrick, a 60-year-old Staten Island resident, said he spent at least that sum on 1,000 subway-car placards and ads on bus kiosks and subway cars. Read more here on Fox News

Fundamentalist Christians have a long history of searching for clues about when Jesus would return to Earth and bring about the final judgment. For example, in the early 1800s farmer William Miller concluded from a Bible study that the world would end April 23, 1843. We are still here

May 21st Doomsday – What to expect

So, what should we expect on May 21st Doomsday ? At around 6 p.m. on May 21st 2011 there will be a global earthquake – all over the world. This earthquake will like no other and will be most powerful earthquake in the history of the mankind. We’ve already seen earthquake damage in Japan and now we’ve had one in Lorca, southern Spain. Although it’s quite rare in Spain, Murcia is in a seismic zone. Maybe this was Spain’s personal May 21st Doomsday.
