The Consumer Affairs Authority has published an extraordinary gazette notificationdated 19 April 2023 fixing a price ceiling for the sale of eggs. Extraordinary gazette No. 2328/05 is to come in to effect from today (20 April onwards).
Accordingly, the maximum retail price of a white egg has been set at 44 rupees and the maximum retail price of a brown egg has been set at 46 rupees.
Also, the maximum retail price for a kilogram of white eggs has been fixed at 880 rupees and the maximum retail price for a kilogram of brown eggs has been issued at 920 rupees.
