Max the Lesser covers R.E.M.’s ‘Me in Honey’

Maisonneuve Music are set to release ‘Time Side / Memory Side: A Tribute to R.E.M.’s Out of Time’ in a weeks and Hamilton, Ontario’s Max the Lesser has contributed his own take on ‘Me in Honey’. More psychedelic than the original, Max doesn’t try to replicate Michael Stipe’s vocals but instead lends his own voice and fills the song with pre-programmed drum tracks from Casio keyboards, bursts of ukulele and DIY samples. Max’s friend Naomi Downer takes over Kate Pierson from The B-52s vocals and the two harmonise while singing ‘what about me?’
