Interrupted last February when the Covid-19 epidemic began to spread around the world, the shooting of Matrix 4 is now about to resume, our colleagues from Variety advancing the date of July 6 when the actors have just been offered an eight-week contract to guarantee their availability this summer so that they can finish shooting this fourth installment.
For international filming, production of Matrix 4 would therefore resume in July in Berlin, where shooting had suddenly been interrupted. As a reminder, Matrix 4 will bring together the two main actors of the legendary trilogy Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss under the direction of Lana Wachowski, solo director in the absence of her sister Lilly Wachowski, who is involved in writing from the Work in Progress series.
Matrix 4 is expected on our screens for May 19, 2021, a date that foreshadows a possible Out-of-Competition screening at the Cannes Film Festival.
