Bristol trio Masca have shared ‘Love Letters’ ahead of the album of the same name, out on 3 April, 2026 via Cold Hard Bangers. Vocalist and guitarist Christina Maynard says the song is ‘a love letter – along with all the other songs we’ve ever written – to music. It also details our worries and the feeling that we’re running out of time to be able to continue with music.’
A choice that so many artists have to make when ‘real life’ threatens to get in the way, the song is a powerful slice of melodic math pop with jagged riffs, bopping bass and self-deprecating lyrics about dark thoughts: ‘All my dreams are wearing thin’. However, there’s a defiance in the scuzzy riffs and central, repeated question of ‘Am I running out of time?’ as the song zips off in another joyous direction.
