Recently, one of our colleagues, Yetnesh Dubey, reviewed the BS6 variant of Tata Tiago Petrol. He owns a Maruti Suzuki Ignis; however, he couldn't stop renting the new Tata Tiago BS6 variant. Yetnesh also operates a YouTube channel where he uploaded the video from the Tata Tiago BS6 magazine.
He started the review by going around the car, then shared his experience while driving the sedan. Before we go ahead, we'll give you a brief overview of the vehicle.
Tiago is an entry level car from Tata Motors with prices starting at Rs 4.69 lakh (ex-showroom). The sedan is renowned for its excellent build quality. Tiago is the only car in its segment to achieve a four-star safety rating in the NCAP Global Crash Test.
Coming back to the review, our teammate precisely explained everything about the car in 5 simple points. He also explained why, although he was very impressed with Tata Tiago, he chose to buy Ignis for himself.

Tata Tiago BS6 Review: 5 Features You Should Know
Excellent suspension
People often praise the hatchback for its suspension system, and our companion also finds it commendable. The car glides comfortably on all kinds of rough surfaces at any speed.
He said the car's suspension was plush and contributed to a better driving experience. Overall, the sedan is very comfortable.
Best management in the segment
Our teammate told us that Tiago's driving is the best in his segment. He has driven Hyundai i10 Nios before and owns Maruti Ignis, so he has gained some experience on the subject. In his opinion, he said that if you combine the right abilities of Maruti and Hyundai, it will become Tata Tiago direction.
The ideal steering should remain smooth at low speeds and should be optimally stiff at high speeds.
He further added that Hyundai's steering is very light, which is suitable for quick maneuvers at low speeds. However, the steering remains smooth and responsive even when the car is moving at higher speeds; this gives low confidence to the driver.
On the other hand, Maruti's steering is light but relatively tighter than Hyundai's at low speeds and becomes stiffer as you increase speed. However, Tiago's steering is smooth at low speeds and optimally becomes stiffer at higher speeds.
Tata Tiago BS6 engine is refined
A 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine powers Tiago. Yetnesh said one of the main reasons for choosing Ignis over Tiago was the availability of a four-cylinder engine at Ignis. In general, a four cylinder engine is more balanced and refined than a three cylinder engine.
However, the new Tiago comes with a counterbalance shaft which makes it as smooth as a four-cylinder engine. Our peer said there was minimal vibration on the gear lever. He said he couldn't tell if it was a four-cylinder or a three-cylinder when driving the car.
On the performance side, Tiago's engine is quite powerful and offers a punchy performance. There were four passengers inside the car, and he never felt the engine struggle during the hatchback cruise.
Stable car
The car is very stable and offers an inspiring drive. He drove the car mainly in a range of 80 to 100 km / h. As for stability, he said the car easily reaches speeds of 100 to 120 km / h, and you won't even realize it due to its excellent handling ability.

People still don't trust Tata's service
Everyone knows that Tata Motors does not have a good reputation when it comes to its service. For the same reason, our teammate had not bought Tata Tiago and finally went to get Maruti Ignis. The guy had doubts in his mind about the company's after-sales service.
However, things are not the same as in the past. Tata has dramatically improved its customer service over the past few years. Still, we can't deny some service centers that offer a bad experience and tarnish the company name.
The guy said, Tata Tiago is a car worth buying. However, he also said there is a need to check the background and reviews of the dealership that this person is buying the car from.
In the end, it looks like it does indeed seem like Tiago is one of the best cars in its segment. The only problem one could face concerns its after-sales service. However, with a little research into the showroom and the quality of service of this dealership, one could avoid facing such problems.
