Maruti Suzuki Eeco completes 15 years in the Indian market. This microvan was first brought to the market in 2010. So far Maruti Suzuki has sold more than 12 lakh Echo in the country. Currently, this car is available in two fuel options – Petrol and Petrol-CNG. This car is known as one of the most popular vans in the country.
The carmaker claims that the Eco's petrol variant contributes 57 per cent of the car's total sales. And, the remaining 43 percent is the petrol-CNG variant. Maruti claims that the microvan is popular in rural markets across the country. At the same time it also sells extensively in the fleet segment.
In this context, Maruti Suzuki India Limited's Senior Executive Officer, Marketing and Sales, Partha Banerjee said, “The Maruti Suzuki Eco is the best seller in rural areas. Considered as the most loved van in India. It has proved its mettle not only in the urban market but also in rural areas, contributing a significant 63 percent to its overall sales.”
Vehicle specification
The Maruti Suzuki Eco Microvan comes with a 1.2 liter K-Series Dual Jet, Dual VVT petrol engine. Comes with a five-speed manual gearbox. This engine is capable of producing around 79.5 bhp of power at 6,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 104.4 Nm at 3,000 rpm. The Maruti Suzuki Eco also has a CNG kit.
The petrol-CNG bi-fuel combination makes the vehicle a practical and affordable option for fleet operators. Maruti claims a mileage of 20.20 kmpl for the petrol model and 27.05 kmpl for the CNG model. Maruti Suzuki Eco is currently priced between Rs 5.32 lakh and Rs 6.58 lakh (ex-showroom).
