Marketing to Women: Best Times to Post Social Media

Posted on the 04 July 2013 by Jamiedunham @jdunham

Yes, I am posting an infographic on the best and worst times to post social media.  However, there is a caveat.  Every category is different and every product has a unique set of target audiences.  So, while, these are good guides, you need to experiment and see what works best for your product, your audience and your choice of social media.  One statistic says that a Facebook post received half its reach within the first 3o minutes of posting so timing can be very important.

Your Audience.  Are you trying to reach a business target or a consumer target?  What are the demographics?  What are their preferred media.

Audience Behavior.  What is their day like?  If your audience is a business target on LinkedIn, it makes perfect sense that you need to post messages before and after standard work times, like suggested below.  If you are targeting a young female demographic, it’s good to know that they check their mobile phones and social media as soon as they wake up.  Some mobile users are active on their mobile device while they are watching television during the evening.

Your Statistics.  Check your own statistics to see when your audiences to respond.  There are tools you can use that will aid in that process.  Use scheduling tools like Socialoomph,  Hootsuite and Buffer to monitor engagement and see what times your content gets the most retweets, likes and shares.
