Marilyn Manson Was Crushed By A Stage Prop Last Night
Probably not as cool as being punched in the face at a Canadian Denny’s but still, it was some giant fake guns. There’s symbolism there that I would totally translate for you if I had finished high school. Marilyn Manson was performing at NYC’s Hammersmith Ballroom on Friday night when two big guns fell on him. Is one of Marilyn’s cocaine wranglers actually an NRA sleeper agent?
Rolling Stone reports that Marilyn and his band were halfway into his cover of the Eurhythmics’ “Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)” when the prop gun decided that cover versions suck and attacked. Marilyn tried to play it cool but shit is heavy.
Manson made his way toward the back of the stage, where a prop featuring two giant pistols suddenly fell forward onto Manson. Video from the concert shows Manson grappling the prop before it comes crashing down to the stage.
The concert was halted while Marilyn lay on the floor as EMTs rushed from backstage to get the guns off him and venue workers called for “ice, ice!” Marilyn was taken to the hospital, and the show was officially canceled. The extent of his injuries is unknown right now, but a source told Variety that he “should be fine.”
He’s currently touring in support of his new album so this isn’t a good sign. Especially since this is the second time he’s been injured during the North American leg of his tour and they’re only three shows in. His next show is supposed to happen in Boston tomorrow night. Marilyn reportedly broke his ankle when jumping off the stage during his Pittsburgh show on Friday night, and seemed to blame it on his manager whom he referred to as a “fascist.” The Daily Mail says that those guns fell on Manson because he was trying to climb them. You’re middle-aged and out of shape now, Marilyn. Maybe just hang around the microphone from now on?
