My friend and former Parisian of the Month Marianne Strom invited Vincent and I over to her Marais apartment last week for a New Years drink. After toasting in the New Year with Champagne and hors d’oeuvres around her fireplace with her husband Anders and our mutual friend Pascal from Paris Marais website, we started to put our coats on to leave. Marianne showed us these pretty serving trays she designed and asked us each to pick one to take home. In fact she was generous enough to give us two of them.
I love my trays so much I would like to share with you about them and where you can purchase them.
Marianne is a very accomplished historian and gifted photographer. She wrote and took the photographs for a fabulous book, Paris en Details Le Marais, in 2011, chronicling the architectural details of the Marais.
She has taken some of the Marais photos and cleverly put them on serving trays. Marianne is Swedish and she found a Swedish company to hand make the trays which are environmentally safe and made of Swedish birch wood. There are five designs pictured and named below. Trays come in two sizes 27X20cm (10.5”X8”) and 43cmX33cm (17”X13”).
Trays are available at the following shops in Paris. The small ones are 30 euros and the large, 45 euros. Prices may vary from shop to shop.
