Marcia Cross will play the lead opposite Jacqueline Grace Lopez in Jane the Novela, the CW’s Jane the Virgin spinoff pilot.
According to Deadline, Jane the Novela mirrors the setup of the original series. It follows a driven Latina woman who is torn between her boyfriend and a handsome rich guy. The rich guy happens to co-own a winery with his manipulative mother Renata (Cross). Renata will stop at nothing to secure her son’s legacy, even if it means standing in the way of his happiness.
