I discovered Calorieking.com while I was working at Philadelphia magazine. The health and fitness editor Jenna Bergen introduced it to me and we used it to figure out the nutritional facts for different recipes she posted online.
What I like about this site is it it has tools to help you can calculate your body mass index [BMI], your target heart rate zone and your waist-hip ratio. It also can help you calculate the amount of calories to take in to maintain your current weight.
Another thing I like about this site is that you can search any and all types of foods for their caloric and nutritional values. It gives you the option to view the facts for the average type of a certain food or specific brand names.
I like this site because it sort of does the work for you. If you're trying to watch your weight or maintain it, Calorieking.com helps you figure out how much you should be eating and figure out if recipes fit within your diet plan.
It takes the guess work out of maintaining a healthy diet.
