On the day the Orioles were eliminated from the 2013 MLB Playoffs, they got some reassuring news on their young stud infielder.

This is about as good as it could get for the Orioles regarding Machado. He’ll miss some time but he’ll be ready for spring training. This is also, apparently, something that has happened to him before. This pretty much makes my post about the off-season worthless, though I think it’ll still be interesting to see what they do with JJ Hardy.
For Orioles fans, yesterday may have ended their playoffs hopes but the fact that Machado won’t miss any of next year and was seen in the dugout laughing with teammates yesterday is really good news.
