Manchester United's new collection accused of copying NFT artist

Manchester United collaborated with the Tezos Foundation for the first time earlier this year, and “The Devils” was released on December 21. Since then, the collection of 7,777 NFTs, each costing about $36, has sold out.

Manchester United has recently launched The Devils, a Tezos-based NFT collection.

Lucrece, an NFT artist, announced on December 28 that he is in discussions with Arthur Breitman, co-founder of Tezos, to determine why Manchester United’s new NFT collection features identical designs and styles to his own.

I’m not saying @ManUtd was inspired by my work, but I’m not saying Manchester United wasn’t inspired by my work. pic.twitter.com/q09Y6uouxF

Update: I’ve talked to @ArthurB and now waiting to start correspondence with ManU.

The artist in question was careful not to accuse Manchester United of plagiarism, but he did establish the similarity between the two works.

Lucrece recently received a response from the club, and it seems they will be able to find a solution.

Update: correspondence between me and ManU has started. Had a productive call with them just now. Probably the last update on this for a while since everyone is still on holiday.
In times of adversity, you’ll know who your friends are. Thank you, tezos community. 🤝
